Useful Emergency Contacts

If there is a change or deterioration in the child or young person’s presentation before you are seen for initial appointment but they are NOT at serious risk of harming themselves or others then you can contact us direct on 0191 283 2937 to provide an update and we can advise and support you.

If you or your child is at imminent risk of harming themselves or others linked with a mental health crisis and/or a parent or carer cannot guarantee their safety you may need to contact the Intensive Community Treatment Service (ICTS) linked with:

  • Persistent suicide threats, significant emotional and/or psychological distress
  • Suicide threats and/or intention or actual attempts to carry this out
  • Significant increase in risk taking behaviours which may cause serious or fatal harm to child, young person or others
  • Serious overdose threats
  • Serious self-harming behaviours

If your child, young person has taken an actual overdose (attempted or reported) they need to go directly to Accident & Emergency at the nearest local A&E department.
