South Tyneside Lifecycle Primary Care Mental Health Services

If you live or attend school in South Tyneside, or your GP is based in South Tyneside, and feel that you are experiencing mental health difficulties, then you or your parents/carers can contact us to see how we might be able to help you.

What will happen

If you want to seek support from us, you will be offered an assessment appointment with one of our children and young people’s workers.

Following this appointment, we will discuss what type of support you may require.  If support is agreed, then we will plan treatment with you.

Types of treatment

This could include one of the following;

  • Group Programmes with Parents and Carers
  • Therapeutic Work with Families
  • Group Programmes for Children
  • Group Programmes for Young People
  • Individual Therapy Sessions
  • Referral to other services

We might assess that other services, such as the Children & Young Peoples Service (CYPS), may meet your needs better.  If this is the case, we will discuss the most suitable options with you.

Want to make a referral?

If you are a parent or carer for a child, or a young person (aged 16 and over), you can make a self-referral to this service.
