Take Control of Anxiety and Low Mood

A 5-week psycho-education course based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, each session lasting for two hours. The course is aimed at those experiencing mild to moderate levels of anxiety, panic and low mood. The course aims to increase understanding about symptoms and learn strategies to help with anxiety. You would not be asked to share anything, answer direct questions or give out any personal information.


Sleep Course

A 3-week course for people who are having difficulties with their sleep; either sleeping too much or not sleeping at all.  The course is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help understand learn techniques and strategies to help improve our sleep patterns. You would not be asked to share anything, answer direct questions or give out any personal information.


Increasing Motivation & Mood Course

A 5-week course aimed at those suffering from depression, who may be coping by withdrawing from the activities they used to enjoy or find satisfying and/or feeling lethargic.  Based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy this course aims to help people recover from depression by finding ways to become more active again and start to enjoy life. You would not be asked to share anything, answer direct questions or give out any personal information.


Overcoming Worry

An 8-week course based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, each session lasting up to two hours. The course is aimed at those experiencing high levels of worry and anxiety.  The course aims to increase understanding about worry and anxiety and how it can affect us, as well as using new learning to reduce worrying and overcome our anxiety. You would not be asked to share anything, answer direct questions or give out any personal information.


Mum’s Talk (Post-Natal Mental Health Course):

A 5-week course aimed at those suffering from depression, who may be coping by withdrawing from the activities they used to enjoy or find satisfying and/or feeling lethargic.  Based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy this course aims to help people recover from depression by finding ways to become more active again and start to enjoy life. You would not be asked to share anything, answer direct questions or give out any personal information.


Bereavement Group

An 8-week therapy group for people who are bereaved. The group is run on Friday afternoons from Jarrow. The group is a mixture of education on bereavement, while also encouraging those attending to share their grief experiences which come in many different forms in a safe space in order to support one another and move forward with their lives.


Mindfulness Course

This 8-week course, based on the Mindfulness Based Stress-Reduction programme and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, is for people who wish to explore this practice as a different way to manage depression, stress and anxiety.  Mindfulness uses meditation, experiential learning, philosophy and yoga to help us change our relationships with our thoughts, feelings and body sensations so rather than being overwhelmed by these, we are better able to accept and live with them. You would not be asked to share anything, answer direct questions or give out any personal information.
