We offer different approaches depending on your needs, some of these are outlined below.

Mental Health Workers & Specialists

Our primary care staff use brief psychological approaches to help support you. These are drawn on a range of effective therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) for Depression, Systemic Family Practice (SFP) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

We work with children, young people and families. Therapy is an opportunity for you, your parent and/or your whole family to talk about something which may be impacting upon you and seek to identify strengths, finding solutions and maybe improve coping skills.

The therapist may help you practice techniques to help improve the way you’re feeling.

Person-Centred Counselling

Counselling is a chance for you to talk about something that has happened which is affecting the way you feel.  Counsellors work through talking, creative methods or play.  Counselling can help you to explore various themes such as stress, relationships, anger, anxiety or grief with a view to make things easier to understand and help you change.

Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs)

PWP staff work with children suffering from mild to moderate anxiety and depression.  They use self-help materials to help children develop coping strategies.  This can be done one-to-one or in a group.
